Villa Vista Olive villa europe

Villa Vista Olive

Villa Vista Olive is a typical Tuscan villa with an exclusive swimming, warm and welcoming furnishings and spetacular views of the Tuscan countryside northwest of Florence.

This independant villa is the centre of a property of over 18 acres of woods and olive groves. It is on the last Western slope of Mount Albano, approx. 250 mtrs. above sea level.

The owners have carried out a rigorous and accurate renovation using only materials (such as stone) from the surrounding area and period while ensuring a structure which respects the norms of bio-architecture.

The living areas have been renovated with a careful eye for details - antique furniture, (some going back as far as the 16th Century.) antique ornaments, paintings, doors, prints and Persian carpets.

On the other hand, the house has every possible modern comfort. Explore the villa Angelo map: ground floor and first floor.

Villa Vista Olive and Villa Monte Albano may be rent togheter as a large unit (23 / 29 guests).

The outside of the villa is covered with tipical local stone as are almost all the houses in the surrounding area and keeps the original aspect of when it was built two hundred years ago. The garden looks over a 360° view of woods and olive groves, hill side towns and hills with chestnuts and cypress trees. To the North one can see the towers of Serravalle Pistoiese and in the distance the mountains of Abetone, famous skiing resort. To the South West the characteristic hillside town of Monsummano Alto. The road in front of the villa leads only to the few surrounding houses. All in all a complete immersion in total silence.

  • Villa Dell'Emissario

Villa dell'Emissario is a beautiful seventeenth-century villa, completely restored in recent years and furnished with great taste and refinement by the two owners, frequent travelers and lovers of art history. The villa is set in an extraordinarily panoramic place, not far from the medieval village of Celle sul Rigo and 6 km from San Casciano dei Bagni, a very popular wellness centre.

From Rome they came to the lands of Casciano because Triario, wife of the Emperor Vitellius, had recommended the healthy properties of thermal waters to her friends. Coming along the Via Cassia, Capitoline patricians in the company of their lovers or their families, either by horse-drawn carriage or in the saddle, came to this place in the shadow of Mount Cetona, in the rugged lands taken from the Etruscans.

In medieval times, the therapeutic reputation of the place did not fade. The town is known by the name of Bagno, or “Balneo”. And the baths of San Cassiano, later S. Casciano, were documented from 1081 when, among the assets of the powerful Abbey of St. Salvatore on Monte Amiata, the figure of “Curtis de Balneo” is mentioned.
In the municipality, 43 hot springs gush out a total capacity of 5,400,000 litres per day, placing S. Casciano immediately behind the European celebrities of Aix-les-Bains and Karlsbad. Every ailment finds a cure here.

But it is not only for the wellbeing of the body that people come to this town, hidden behind the folds of the Val d’Orcia, behind the rupestrian scales of Radicofani and not far but protected from highways and railways. People come to learn about a wild Tuscany, made up of few roads and those that there are, are nearly all white, impenetrable woods and bush, mysterious places of water, showerheads, gullies, clay.

  • Casa del Ponte e Vini

Tuscany has kept well hidden, certain jewels where memories and the imagination conjure images of the past which are intense and unforgettable.  Casa del Ponte e Vini, which is an extremely well furnished dwelling, is the result of the conversion and restoration of an old water mill.

Completely rebuilt in local stone in 1606 by the Arrighi family, the water mill has shared the same history and dates from the same period as the nearby Abbey of St. Antimo (12th Century). As a mill it functioned perfectly until about 60 years ago.
